Dr. Anastasia Malygina is an associate professor at the School of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University.
At her university, Anastasia teaches courses on arms control, WMD non-proliferation, and revolution in military affairs for the students of Strategic and Arms Control Studies Master Degree program.
In 2007, she participated in Summer School on International Security held by Moscow PIR-Center and contributed to several research projects coordinated by this NGO. In 2013, Anastasia joined a network of Russian university professors and administrators who are working together to implement various nonproliferation training and outreach activities in Russia. In February-April 2016, Anastasia was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Non-Proliferation Studies (CNS) in Monterey.
She is an author of several publications in Russian that address nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation and the history of chemical warfare during WWI. In 2013, she contributed to a two-volume book on Russian role in the strategy of the First World War. In 2009-2011, she coordinated a project on the influence of technological changes to the defense policies of France, Great Britain and Germany in the second half of the XX century. In 2015, Dr. Malygina participated in the Program on Strategic Stability Evaluation (POSSE) and co-authored with Dr. Andrey Pavlov a chapter on Russian approach to strategic stability for the book Regional Approaches to Strategic Stability edited by Adam Stulberg and Larry Rubin. In 2016, Dr. Malygina wrote a chapter on international arms control regimes for the book Russia and the World: Understanding International Relations edited by Dr. Natalia Tsvetkova.
