Audronius Ažubalis served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania from 2010 to 2012, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
He became a Member of the Seimas in 1996–2000, and was re-elected in 2004, 2008, and 2012. He was a constant member of the NATO parliamentary assembly. Mr. Ažubalis represents the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats, Lithuania's conservative party and part of the European People's Party. In 2011 he served as Lithuania’s Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe).
