David Triesman

Former Foreign Office Minister and Chairman of the Football Association

David, Lord Triesman was the Labour Party’s principal spokesperson on Foreign Affairs in the House of Lords. Lord Triesman joined the Lords in 2004 after serving as Labour’s General Secretary between 2001 and 2003. In Parliament Lord Triesman served in a range of departments, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as a Permanent Parliamentary Under Secretary of State. A devoted Tottenham Hotspur fan, he became the first independent Chairman of the UK’s Football Association in 2008.
