On 14 June 2019, ELN Policy Fellow Alice Billon-Galland took part in a seminar entitled “Towards ‘European Sovereignty’ in Security and Defence?” at the French Ministry for the Armed Forces, in Paris.

The event was co-organised by the EU Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) and the Direction Dénérale des Relations Internationales et de la Stratégie (DGRIS) of the French Ministry for the Armed Forces.

Supported by the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the forthcoming Finnish presidency, the seminar sought to specify the trade-offs for “European sovereignty” in security and defence.
