Central and Eastern European Leaders Come Together at ELN-PISM Meeting in Warsaw

A group of central and eastern European leaders and analysts met under the auspices of the ELN and the Polish Institute of International Affairs on December 14, in Warsaw, to discuss nuclear policy issues.

The group included:

Adam Daniel Rotfeld (former Foreign Minister of Poland);

Imants Liegis (former Defence Minister of Latvia);

Jan Kavan (former Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic);

Ambassador Linas Linkevicius (former Minister of Defence, Lithuania);

Jerzy Nowak (former Polish Permanent Representative to NATO);

Dr. Andrzej Karkoszka (former Deputy Minister of Defence, Poland);

and Des Browne (former UK Secretary of State for Defence).

The private meeting was the first of a two part discussion, with the second part being a half day symposium on December 15 with over 30 leaders and analysts from across central and eastern Europe. More details to follow shortly.
