ELN Participates in OSCE Security Day

On 3 October, ELN Research Director Lukasz Kulesa and board member Ian Kearns took part in the OSCE Security Day conference in Vienna.

The meeting, which brought together representatives of the OSCE Participating States, OSCE Secretariat and other international organisations, was focused on revitalising military confidence-building, risk reduction and arms control in Europe.

During the conference, Dr Kearns moderated the session on preventing and managing close military encounters – a topic to which the ELN has devoted particular attention in its research.

The lead speakers in the panel were Ambassadors Alexander Vershbow, NATO Deputy Secretary General, and Alexander Grushko, Permanent Representative of Russia to NATO.
