ELN Represented in First EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference

EU Nuclear Arms Control Nuclear Weapons Euro-Atlantic Security

As a new consortium member, ELN participated at the first ‘EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference’ which took place in February 2012 in Brussels, Belgium. At this event, over 200 governmental and non-governmental participants attended from across the EU member states and other countries, addressing the proliferation challenges of WMD, SALW, space weapons and delivery vehicles, and discussing key disarmament issues.

The EU Non-Proliferation Consortium, which was established based on a 2010 Council Decision with the aim to create a network of independent think tanks in support of the implementation of the EU Strategy against the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

 

All the transcripts from the conference are now available on the IISS conference website, for both the plenary sessions, and the simultaneous special sessions. The website also has summaries of the four plenary sessions, and videos of all the discussions that took place in the main hall. Several photos of each session are also available.
