Gent Salihu is a senior strategic advisor, focusing on justice and the rule of law. Salihu currently serves as a Senior Advisor to USAID to support Kosovo in strengthening access to justice for businesses, including the establishment of a standalone commercial court for businesses and foreign investors. Salihu is also a Lecturer at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Kosovo where he teaches public policy and environmental policy.

Previously, Salihu served as an Advisor to the President of Kosovo and Minister of Justice, and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has been an integral part of major state-building initiatives, from conducting a functional review of the justice sector to transforming the new country’s property rights regime to address pervasive informality and empower women.

Salihu graduated AB, magna cum laude, in Philosophy and Government from Dartmouth College, and as a recipient of Weidenfeld and Chevening scholarships, he holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford. In the Fall, Salihu is moving in Washington DC to pursue a Juris Doctor degree at the Georgetown University Law Center where he will also serve as a Technology Law Scholar.

Salihu is a member of the Younger Generation Leaders Network on Euro-Atlantic Security, which is sponsored by the European Leadership Network.
