Ivanka Barzashka

Research Associate, Centre for Science and Security Studies, King's College London

Ivanka Barzashka is a research associate at the Centre for Science and Security Studies at the Department of War Studies of King’s College London specialising in technical aspects of nuclear arms control and non-proliferation. Her research focuses on assessing technical options for NATO-Russia cooperation on ballistic missile defence and modelling strategic stability in a disarming world. Educated in both physics and international relations, she used to manage the Federation of American Scientists’ interdisciplinary assessment of Iranian nuclear capability. Barzashka has held visiting positions at the Centre for National Security and Defence Research of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence.
