Maxwell Downman is an Analyst at the British American Security Information Council, where he works primarily on issues relating to disarmament and arms control. His research interests include the role of nuclear weapons in US alliance dynamics, the politics of UK nuclear weapons, and the role of nuclear weapons in Chinese strategic thinking. Maxwell is also a freelance writer for Asian Affairs, and holds a MA in Japanese at the University of Edinburgh and a MA in International Studies and Diplomacy at The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
