The ELN Policy Fellow Sahil Shah was quoted in Kommersant article on rapid extension of the New START by the Russian authorities. The full article in Russian, authored by YGLN member Elena Chernenko, can be found here.

Sahil Shah of the European Leadership Network called the decision of the Russian authorities a “strategic mistake”, adding that it undermines Moscow’s position on the New START. According to him, in the future, the Russian side will not be able to use the argument about time pressure, as it simply will not be believed.
