Op-ed by the ELN Policy Fellow Sahil Shah published in Responsible Statecraft

ELN Policy Fellow Sahil Shah shared his view on the American pressure on Iran in an op-ed for Responsible Statecrafttitled “I was diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic and can’t stop thinking about sanctions against Iran“. He also mentioned the ELN Transatlantic call to ease humanitarian trade with Iran due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was published in April 2020 on the ELN website. The op-ed can be found here.

Responsible Statecraft is a publication of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft.

As an American who has been able to be quickly and effectively treated for cancer during this pandemic, I cannot bear to watch my government be complicit in the preventable deaths of children, adults, and the elderly in the name of a sanctions policy that has so clearly failed to deliver progress on any of the current U.S. administration’s demands.
