Paul Quilès was a French Socialist Party politician and Member of Parliament between 1978 and 2007, serving as French Defence Minister from 1985 to 1986 and as Interior Minister from 1992 to 1993. He was also the Chairman of the Defense Commission and the Vice-President of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the French National Assembly.
Quiles served as Mayor of Cordes sur Ciel (Tarn) and has published the books ‘Nuclear, a French lie (Editions Charles Léopold Mayer, Nov 2012) and ‘Stop the Bomb! (Cherche Midi Editions, March 2013, together with Bernard Norlain and Jean-Marie Collin).
Until his passing in 2021, Paul served as President of Initiatives for Nuclear Disarmement (IDN).
