Andrej Matišák works as a journalist and Deputy Head of the Foreign Desk in Slovak daily Pravda. Between 2015-216 he was the Editor of the Defence Matters project that was an online discussion platform concerning defence topics and a joint initiative between four media outlets from four EU countries. Previously he worked as the Head of the Foreign Desk in 24 Hodin, and as the Editor of the Foreign Desk in Narodna obroda.
He focuses on global security topics, terrorism, US politics and foreign policy, China, NATO, and the EU. He has reported from Afghanistan, Kosovo, Ethiopia, Ukraine, China, South Sudan, Myanmar, Mozambique, and other countries. Among other well-known global figures, he has interviewed Aung Sun Suu Kyi, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Kim Campbell, Václav Havel, Jens Stoltenberg, and Sauli Niinistö. He is a creator of The Global Agora podcast.
