Anna Jardfelt

Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations, Geneva

Anna Jardfelt is Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva. Prior to this, she served as Ambassador to Kenya and Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat (2017-2020). From 2014 to 2017 she served as Ambassador to the EU’s Political and Security Committee. Before Ambassadorial postings, Anna spent four years as the Director of the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI). She joined the Swedish Foreign Ministry in 1997 and has spent a large part of her career on European Security policy issues, including serving with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (2001-2005). Anna Jardfelt holds a law degree with a focus on international law and human rights. She is married with two children.
