Ambassador Jaakko Blomberg is a former Finnish diplomat.
He joined the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1974, served at the United Nations, New York 1978-82, was an Ambassador in Ottawa 1985-88, Political Director and Under-Secretary for Political Affairs in the MFA 1988-2001, an Ambassador in Tallinn 2001-05. In 2005-7 he acted as a Special Adviser on the Question of Cyprus to Mr. Olli Rehn, Commissioner responsible for enlargement at the time.
