Magda Leichtová is the Research and Programme Manager at the University Consortium. The University Consortium is an academic initiative bringing together experts and students from the EU, US and Russia to exchange knowledge, learn from each other and enhance mutual understanding. Magda is also an external collaborator of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague.
Before joining the UC, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of West Bohemia in Czech Republic. For some time, she was a deputy head of the Department of Politics and International Relations there. She holds a PhD in Political Science. She is interested in identity politics, the role of emotions in politics, and perceptions and misperceptions in the IR. When researching these topics, she focuses on Russia-West relations.
