Dr. Martin Zapfe is a senior researcher and head of the Global Security Team at the Center for Security Studies (CSS), ETH Zurich. Before joining the CSS in 2013, he worked for former German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer in his consultancy JF&C.
Martin Zapfe’s research focuses on NATO, contemporary defence and deterrence strategy as well as military politics and doctrine. He has published analyses at the NATO Defense College in Rome, the “Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik” (SWP) in Berlin, and in various peer-reviewed journals.
