Nikola Dimitrov serves as Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Prior to this appointment, Mr Dimitrov served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia from 2017 to 2020. During his term as a Minister of Foreign Affairs, the General Affairs Council of the EU agreed upon opening the accession negotiations with the Republic of North Macedonia.
In the period 2014 to 2017, he was a prominent member of The Hague Institute of Global Justice, and since 2011 has been a member of the Permanent Court for Arbitration in The Hague.
From 2009 to 2014, Dimitrov was Ambassador to The Hague, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Macedonia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
From 2007 to 2008, he served as a Special Envoy of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration in Brussels, and from 2001 to 2006, as Ambassador to Washington, USA
