Samuel Driver

Samuel Driver is a PhD Candidate in Slavic Studies at Brown University. He is currently a Fullbright-Hays DDRA Fellow, a Stanford U.S. – Russia Forum Arts & Culture Fellow, a Visiting Scholar at Charles University in Prague, and an Open Research Laboratory Associate at University of Illinois-UC.

The main avenues of his research are the examination of the intersection between photography and truth in the USSR, Eastern European art activism, and cross-cultural youth discourse in the digital sphere. Outside of academia, he has held lecturing and research positions in contemporary art museums both in the United States and Russia, while also working actively as a Russian-English translator of fine art texts, non-fiction essays, and poetry.
