Sverre Lodgaard

Senior Research Fellow, Norwegian Institute of International Affairs

Sverre Lodgaard is a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs.

He is currently leading three projects: Accomodating Iran into the Middle East; Nuclear Deterrence, Disarmament and Development Priorities (with Harald Müller) and The European Security System Revisited in collaboration with the Toda Institute.

His latest book was published by Routledge in January 2011: Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation. Towards a Nuclear-Weapon-Free World?

Sverre Lodgaard was the director of NUPI from 1997 to 2007. He has also worked as the director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research in Geneva and as the director of the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo.
