Dr. Valentyn Badrak is the Director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, and the author of numerous publications on security and defence issues. He was previously the defence editor of the UNIAN news agency, and served in the Soviet and then Ukrainian armed forces from 1989 to 1996. He received his Ph.D. in mass media from Kiev National University.
