Tomasz Szatkowski

Tomasz Szatkowski – MA in Law (Warsaw University) and MA in War Studies (King’s College London), has also completed National Security Postgraduate Studies (Warsaw University), a program on intelligence policy (King’s College London), staff officer’s professional development course (Naval Postgraduate School – Monterrey) and Defence Policy and Strategy Management Course (Defence Academy of the United Kingdom – Shrivenham). Winner of the UK Government’s Ministry of Defence/Chevening scholarship (2004), and the US Department of State International Visitors Leadership Program grant (2007) as well as the Asmus Policy Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (2013). Tomasz Szatkowski possesses a multiannual and diversified experience in the field of national security, in particular in defence and defence procurement policies as well as in oversight of intelligence services, which has been acquired with successful achievements on senior positions at the Polish Parliament, Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, defence industry, public media and at the European Parliament. He has published in Poland and abroad, as well as appeared in various media. His interests focus on classic military strategic thought, in particular on relation between technology and strategy, intelligence strategy, defence economy and problems of coordination of various aspects of state’s national security policy.
