Yves Boyer

Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique, Deputy Director of the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique

Dr Yves Boyer is Professor at the Ecole polytechnique, the most prestigious French Grande école, where he teaches international security affairs. He graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and has a doctorate in Political Science from Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He was formerly a Senior Researcher at the French Institute for International Affairs (IFRI), and is currently Deputy Director of the Paris-based Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS) which interacts closely with various branches of the French MoD. He is a former Researcher at the International Institute for Security Studies (IISS) and a Woodrow Wilson Scholar (Washington D.C.). He has chaired several working groups of the Defence Science Board for the French Ministry of Defence. He is also vice-president of the board of the Annuaire Français de Relations Internationales, as well as Questions Internationales (Paris). He is co-editor, with Julian Lindley-French, of the “Oxford Handbook of War” edited by Oxford University Press (January 2012). Yves Boyer is chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.
