On 24 January, the ELN Contact Group on Russia-West Relations met to discuss the growing dynamics of great-power conflict, and the similarities and differences between the hardening geopolitical division of today and the Cold War.

On 5 May 2022, the European Leadership Network (ELN) convened the Contact Group on Russia-West relations via Zoom to discuss the current situation in Ukraine, as well as prospects for negotiations and the future of dialogue.
In June, the Contact Group convened for a two-day in-person meeting in Istanbul to discuss the future of the Group and exchange views on the state of, and prospects for, Russia-West relations.
On 24th and 25th October 2019, the European Leadership Network convened the Contact Group on Russia-West Relations in Prague, Czech Republic for its eighth meeting.
