Louis Reitmann is a Research Associate at the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP), focusing on export controls, nuclear diplomacy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in nuclear policy. He is a board member of the Emerging Voices Network, an initiative of the British American Security Information Council (BASIC) and a Leader for Tomorrow under the UN programme #Youth4Disarmament.

Previously, Reitmann worked as an export control officer at Imperial College London, as a Blue Book Trainee with the EU Special Envoy for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, and as a financial crime analyst in the City of London. He holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

Reforming the ‘London Club’: How transparency and outreach can benefit the Nuclear Suppliers Group

The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) has made a key contribution to global security, but it has been neither ambitious nor effective in communicating this to an audience that is increasingly important to its success – non-nuclear suppliers in the Global South. Ahead of the NSG Plenary in Buenos Aires starting on 10 July, Louis Reitmann suggests ways for Participating Governments to enhance the Group’s transparency and outreach to third countries.
