Paul von Salisch is a political advisor to the Operation Commander of Operation EUNAVFOR MED IRINI.
Prior to this, Paul worked as a desk officer for the German Federal Ministry of Defence in the EU and NATO policy units. He holds a Bachelor in European Studies from Maastricht University and a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School in Berlin. His thesis focussed on the European Union’s Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO). Paul is a member of Polis180, a grassroots think tank for foreign policy and European politics, where he was a board member from 2019-2021 and Head of the Program for European Security and Defence Policy.
