Daniel Saka Mbumba is a sanctions compliance project manager at BNP Paribas in Paris. He recently relocated to France after spending five years in the New York office. His work focuses on financial security risk compliance including international sanctions and embargoes, anti-money laundering, and combating the financing of terrorism. In this capacity, Daniel helps the bank comply with international sanctions regulations by enhancing its sanctions-risk monitoring and control framework.
Additionally, Daniel has also participated in several professional leadership programs with global think-tanks including the German Marshall Fund of the United States, GLOBSEC and the Atlantic Council, where he discussed the impact of economic sanctions in today’s geopolitical landscape.
Daniel holds a master of science in statistics and software engineering from the Polytech Lille Graduate School of Engineering. He also studied at Oklahoma University. He is a Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (ACAMS CGSS) as well as a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP).
