Chair of the ELN Des Browne and the Co-Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) Ernest Moniz have written a letter to The Times, arguing that in passing the 2021 Integrated Review London has inexplicably abdicated its longstanding leadership role on nuclear disarmament. By announcing a policy change that runs counter to President Biden’s commitment to reduce the role of nuclear weapons in national security policies, the UK also endangers the “special relationship”.
