Mireille Clapot

French politician, Member of the National Assembly

Mireille Clapot is an engineer, having received her diploma from the Ecole Centrale de Paris. She practiced commercially for 25 years, occupying posts in marketing and international buying, before becoming an director in the public sector (SNCF, local bodies, higher education). She received a Masters in literature on the subject of “bridges in the literature of the Balkans.” Since June 2017, she is a representative of the République en Marche party at the Assemblée Nationale for the 1st circumscription of the Drôme department, as well as a member of the Committee for Foreign Affairs. She has expressed a desire to focus her political efforts on human rights and on gender equality abroad, a subject on which she published in April 2018 in the report “100 Propositions for Feminist Diplomacy.” She is particularly interested in former Soviet nations and in the Western Balkan states, particularly concerning the following topics: human rights, gender equality and cybersecurity.
