On January 31, 2017 ELN Director Sir Adam Thomson spoke at the Chatham House event “How Secure is Eastern Europe?” in London.

The event was chaired by Dr Beyza Unal, Research Fellow, International Security Department, Chatham House and additional speakers included: HE Mr Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic, Minister of European Affairs, Montenegro; Dr Igor Sutyagin, Senior Research Fellow, Russian Studies, RUSI; and Kadri Liik, Senior Policy Fellow, ECFR.

The panel assessed the military manoeuvres, the influence of Russia in Europe, as well as the effectiveness of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy.
